Life Changed Overnight
Every child deserves a warm, comfortable place to sleep. But for siblings Zayan and Aleeza, that simple comfort disappeared overnight.
When their dad became too ill to work and bills started to pile up, the family had to leave their home and move somewhere more affordable. The move was sudden, and money was tight. Their new house was empty, and furnishing it was simply out of reach. With no beds of their own, Zayan and Aleeza shared a single thin mattress placed directly on the floor. No comfort, no warmth, and no real space to call their own.
The Every Day Struggle
Every night, the siblings struggled to sleep. The mattress offered little support, and they woke each other up as they tossed and turned. By morning, Zayan and Aleeza both felt tired and sore. They spent the day exhausted, struggling to concentrate at school, sitting alone at breaktime instead of playing with their peers, trying to take advantage of whatever rest they could get.
Poor sleep has a huge impact on all of us, especially children. It affects learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. For Zayan and Aleeza, it touched every part of their day. And all the end of that long, tiring day bought, was another night fighting for space on a thin mattress on the floor.
A New Chapter
Thanks to your support, everything looks different now. Zayan and Aleeza have their very own bunk beds; they have their own safe space. They no longer wake up tired and aching. Instead, they’re sleeping soundly, waking feeling more energised and ready for the day ahead.
